Boston Bruins Honor Fallen Firefighters

The team honored Ed Walsh and Michael Kennedy, killed fighting a blaze in Back Bay this week.

Ed Walsh and Michael Kennedy, the Boston firefighters killed in Wednesday's nine-alarm blaze in Back Bay, were honored by the Boston Bruins.

The team held a ceremony before Thursday night's home game against the Chicago Blackhawks.

Players wore Boston Fire Department hats during warmups and the crowd at TD Garden held a moment of silence as the department logo was projected on the ice.

"They are the heroes," Bruins forward Patrice Bergeron told NESN.com. "They put their lives at risk ... our thoughts and prayers are with their families."

The Bruins won, 3-0.
