City CVS Pharmacies Hit With Rash of Bomb Threats
Police didn't find any devices at five different locations Friday.
Boston Police reported on BPDNews.com they responded to five separate bomb threats to five different CVS pharmacies in the city on Friday, with no suspects or devices found at any location.
The pharmacies at 151 Charles St. on Beacon Hill and at 191 Cambridge St. nearby were among those impacted by phoned-in bomb threats.
CVS locations and 587 Boylston St., 231 Massachusetts Ave. and 400 Tremont St. also received bomb threats Friday according to police.
"These threats all involved a male caller reporting that a bomb had been placed inside the businesses and would be detonated unless money was transferred," police said.
On Aug. 26, police said they responded to a similar incident in which a CVS at 631 Washington St. reported receiving five different calls from a male who said "he had placed a bomb in the store and that an associate was watching the store. The suspect demanded that store employees active $3,000 worth of currency cards and provide the pin numbers necessary to cash the cards."
Again, police found no devices and have no suspects.
