Homeless Man Charged With Breaking and Entering on Dartmouth Street

The following information was supplied by the Boston Police Department. Charges listed do not imply conviction.

A breaking and entering was reported at 10:35 a.m. on December 28 at 138 Dartmouth Street. The caller reported that a male was going door to door, trying to open them on Dartmouth Street. On arrival, officers couldn’t find any address 138 Dartmouth Street.

At 10:40 a.m., a citizen flagged down the officers. He identified himself as the caller and told the officers that he had given them the wrong address. The witness said that the suspect had tried to open the doors of 114, 142, 140 Chandler Street. The suspect finally gained access to 138 Chandler Street.

Officers made their way up to the top floor and found a forced open door with a broken lock with pry marks on the doorframe. The officers put the suspect in custody. They found a screwdriver and a crowbar on the suspect.

Timothy Kelley, homeless, was placed under arrest for breaking and entering in the day time, possession of burglarious tools, receiving stolen property worth over $250, destruction of property and a default warrant out of Fall River court.
