State Police: Expect Morning Traffic Delays in Boston Wednesday, Thursday for Funerals

Drivers should be prepared for traffic delays in Boston Wednesday and Thursday morning because of the large number of mourners from the public safety community meeting in South Boston before heading to the funerals of Lt. Edward Walsh and Firefighter Michael Kennedy.

Drivers should expect delays in the area of Exit 15 (Columbia Road) on Rte. 93 southbound. Buses will be utilizing that exit beginning at 6:30 a.m. on both days to carry fire and police mourners to the funeral services. The delays will occur throughout both mornings.

Massachusetts State Police suggest drivers may wish to seek alternate routes.
