A man told Boston Police that while at Millennium Park an unleashed big dog ran past his 4-year-old son, startling the boy, causing him to fall and get scrapes on his right elbow and right knee.
Around 6:01 p.m. on Oct. 20, the man said while he and his son were playing in the picnic area of the upper field an unleashed big black dog came running towards them. The owner was a white female in her 40s, alleged the father.
The man told police that the dog continued running by after making no contact with his son, according to a Boston Police report. The dog's owner allegedly stopped and apologized to the dad before leaving the park with the canine.
Boston EMS was offered to the boy, but the father declined.
Previously, there were discussions of creating a dog park at Millennium Park, but due to the space being landfill and a former dump, it was deemed unsuitable for a dog park because dogs dig.
