Approval Sought For Boston Common Renovations

Boston Business Journal reports final approval is expected for Lafayette Plaza phase of Brewer Fountain project.

Boston Business Journal reported Friday the Friends of the Public Garden are set to go before the Boston Landmarks Commission this coming Tuesday to gain final approval for their plans to renovate Lafayette Plaza on Boston Common.

According to the article, the Friends want to make changes to the stretch of the Common along Tremont Street from the Park Street MBTA station to the Common visitors center.

The agenda for the Boston Landmarks Commission meeting can be found here and specifically states their design review will consider "Phase Two of the Brewer Fountain Plaza and Parkland Project including restoration of the fence along Tremont Street and reconfiguration of the Lafayette Mall."

BBJ reported the Lafayette project will be the final phase of the $4 million Brewer Fountain Plaza renovation project.
