Boston Common Renovations Meeting Aug. 15

Meeting will discuss improvements at Parkman Plaza at the Visitors Information Center.

The City of Boston Parks and Recreation Department is holding a meeting regarding improvements meeting to the area of Parkman Plaza at the Visitors Information Center on Boston Common.

The meeting is slated to take place Thursday, Aug. 15 at 6 p.m. at Emerson College's Bordy Theater, 216 Tremont St.

The meeting is being held in conjunction with the Mayor's Office of Neighborhood Services and is open to the public.

Landscape improvements to Parkman Plaza at the Visitors Information Center along Tremont Street will be the purpose of the meeting.

"This meeting will focus on the history and assessment of the site," according to a statement from the city. "Recommendations for improvements will be addressed at a future meeting." 

The Friends of the Public Garden recently went before the Boston Landmarks Commission seeking approval for the final phase of their renovation project for the Common, which involves work along Tremont Street from the Park Street MBTA station to the Common visitors center.
