It wasn't so long ago that a developer proposed a 600-foot tower for Boston's waterfront.
The city shot that proposal down, but the Boston Redevelopment Authority is beginning a process to give that developer—and all other property owners along the waterfront—more precise guidance on what the city will allow.
The authority began seeking bids last week to find a consultant who will develop a plan for the 39-acres of waterfront along the Greenway between Christopher Columbus Park and the Northern Avenue Bridge.
Richard McGuinness, the BRA’s deputy director of waterfront planning, told the Boston Herald that the city's current guidelines have "plenty of room for improvement.”
The total process, according to the Herald, should take 18-24 months, including public meetings.
