Going (Celtic) Green: Olynyk to Ride MBTA Thursday

Kenmore Station is getting a new "Next Train" message board and the Celtics' draftee will be on hand to then take a ride through Back Bay.

The MBTA Green Line is about to get even more green when new Boston Celtics center Kelly Olynyk will ride it from Kenmore Station to North Station Thursday to highlight new train technology.

Olynyk, drafted this year out of Gonzaga University, will join a Gonzaga Law School alum, state Transportation Secretary Richard Davey, for the ride.

According to the MBTA, the pair will be on hand at Kenmore at 2 p.m. Thursday to unveil "Next Train" electronic message boards, which will be a first for any Green Line station.

From there, Olynyk and Davey will ride the train from Kenmore, through Back Bay and downtown, to North Station.
