A Green Line T driver caught on cell phone video allegedly asleep at the wheel has been suspended.

WBZ-TV reported Wednesday that in the video the driver, who is seated in the second car of a D line trolley and not actually operating the train, could be seen with his head down before entering a tunnel.

In a statement to WBZ, the MBTA said the “situation will be handled swiftly and with the most serious of care.”

The statement also sites an “aggressive fatigue awareness program that is required for all safety-sensitive employees.”
