FAFSA Day Events for College-Bound Boston Students

Get free computer access and help filing online to receive federal financial aid for school.

On Jan. 27, college-bound students in Boston can take advantage of local services designed to help them navigate the process of applying for federal financial aid.

During the ninth annual FAFSA Day Massachusetts, sites around the commonwealth will provide support for students and their families as they complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, or FAFSA. This form is required for all students applying for federal financial aid such as grants, scholarships, loans and federal work-study.

ASA College Planning Center - Boston Public Library—700 Boylston St., Boston. Sunday, Jan. 27 at 1 p.m. Services include computer access, online filing and available Creole translators. uAspire—31 St. James Ave., Suite 520, Boston. Tuesday, Jan. 29 and Wednesday, Jan. 30 from 3-6 p.m. Services include computer access and online filing. Walk-ins welcome at both sessions. For more information, contact site coordinator Adam Reinke at 617-778-7195.

Cambridge Rindge and Latin School—459 Broadway, Cambridge. Sunday, Jan. 27 at 1 p.m. Services include computer access and online filing. For more information, contact site coordinator Christine Padgett at 781-239-4079.

Students should register in advance (except for the weekday events scheduled at uAspire) online at fafsaday.org.

Students and parents who plan to attend a FAFSA Day event should bring the following items with them:

  • FAFSA pin (accessible at www.pin.ed.gov);
  • Social Security number;
  • Driver’s License number;
  • Most recent federal tax return;
  • Most recent W-2 or year-end pay stub;
  • Untaxed income records;
  • Bank statements;
  • Business and investment records;
  • And Alien Registration card (if not a U.S. Citizen).
