It's Alive! Live Entertainment Etiquette at a Sports Bar

For all you sports bar junkies- you have come to understand that not all sports bars are alike. So, much like a different atmosphere for each bar, the same goes for live entertainment. Not every musician draws in the same crowd, requires the same kind of security, or as you know- produces the same tunes! And while we are on the subject of embracing the beauty of being different, we also understand that not everybody enjoys their dose of live entertainment the same way. Whether you’re the first in line looking to secure a spot front and center or if you’re delighted to tap your foot against a barstool on the other end of the room – there’s a place for everyone! We’ve got a few do’s and don’ts to keep success on the stage and an overall buzz of happiness during live performances.

Push it to the Limit

We know that during a 2 hour set- you may need to weave your way in and out of the crowd that hovers the stage. So, if you’re pushing through the crowded corn maze with a drink in each hand- a steam rolling approach may not fit. A little “excuse me” and smirk goes a long way, especially if you’re hoping to get a better view of the performance.  While we agree that the buddy system is always your best bet- when it comes to jumping in and out of a crowd - head in alone. Why? Because nothing is worse than a group of people linked hand-in-hand has they bust through a sea of people!

A Lesson Learned in Grade School: Keep Your Hands to Yourself

Something that we learned a long time ago, sometimes gets thrown on the back burner when it comes to a crowded bar! It’s easy to get worked-up with excitement as you reach out to the performers but remember- much like a museum exhibit, these singers aren’t to be touched. We want to make sure you leave happy and we want our performers to feel the same way by the end of the night. Making sure singers and all parties involved feel comfortable is extremely important to us. If that means having to keep people from reaching at their equipment in the middle of a song or have to politely ask the crowd to stand back a few feet for comfort - so be it. Remember, our security is there for a reason- so always be respectful and let us do our jobs. Which in case you didn’t know, is protecting YOU and everyone that sets foot in our facility?

Dance Fever

When there’s a live performance going on- we love nothing more than to watch our patron’s cut a rug! We know that the second the guitarist strikes his first chord- something takes over. Suddenly, those people who usually tap their feet and occasionally bob their heads become masters of the dance floor! We want you to embrace your inner dancing queen but sometimes we ask that you pump the breaks. There’s nothing wrong with feelin’ the music – but sometimes the personal space of others becomes jeopardized. Keep those elbows to your side everyone and remember- you’re not at home alone in front of the mirror! We want you to have fun, but we don’t want you to hurt someone else, or even yourself in the process.
