Tito Puente Latin Music Series Comes to a Close at the East Boston Greenway

The Latin Heartbeat Orchestra takes the stage in East Boston for the final concert of the 2013 Tito Puente Latin Music Series. The 13-piece group of musicians, including Berklee College of Music alumnus trumpeter Brian Wallace, will perform salsa numbers that are sure to please both those who want to dance and those who want to sit back and listen. The final free performance will take place on Thursday, August 15, at 7:00 p.m, on the East Boston Greenway located at 42 Marginal Street. Founded by William Mendoza, the Latin Heartbeat Orchestra includes Carlos Olivera (vocals), Julio Salgado (vocals), Evan Runyon (bass), Damian Curtis (piano), Jesse “Timbalon” Perez (percussion), Edgar “Papo” Jimmy (percussion), Tony Gonzalez (percussion), Anthony Sisson (trumpet), Dave Zoni (trombone), James Monaghan (trombone), Andrew Studenski (baritone saxophone), and trumpeter Brian Wallace. Together, these talented musicians produce exciting renditions of salsa classics as well as energy-infused original compositions.

Caribbean, jazz, funk, R&B, and more. Performers include Berklee College of Music faculty, students, alumni, and world-renowned artists from Puerto Rico, Colombia, and Venezuela.  Audiences should bring their dancing shoes for free salsa lessons provided by MetaMovements one hour before the performance.
