French Cultural Center Hosting 38th Bastille Day Party

Marlborough Street from Berkeley to Clarendon will be closed for 2,000 revelers to dance in the street Friday night.

It's an annual rite of July in the Back Bay and the French Cultural Center is once again holding their Bastille Day Party for an evening of francophone-themed entertainment and fun.

The 38th Annual Bastille Day Party will take place Friday from to 6 to 11 p.m. on Marlborough Street between Berkeley and Clarendon Streets. Advance tickets are $25 and $30 at the door based on availability.

More info on how to get tickets is available here.

This will be a rain or shine event, tickets aren't refundable and backpacks and strollers are not allowed.

This year's two musical acts will be Atlas Soul and Madame Moustache. According to the French Cultural Center, Atlas Soul "blends spicy hot Afro-Mediterranean grooves and melodies with a generous dose of jazz, funk and rock," and Madame Moustache is "a country-rock band hailing from Québec whose entertaining music is marked by humor and folly, seducing the most eclectic audiences."

During the party, French food, wine and beer will be available for sale.

"Bastille Day, France's national holiday, is celebrated on July 14th, commemorating the storming of the Bastille prison on that day in 1789," according to the French Cultural Center.
