Boston, Mass. – An emotion-packed day marking the one-year anniversary of the Boston Marathon bombing took a terrible twist Tuesday night when a masked man left two suspicious packages at the finish line.

Police shut down Boylston Street in Boston about 7:30 p.m. Tuesday night after two unattended backpacks were found at the Boston Marathon finish line. The area was evacuated and anyone in the area has been asked to stay indoors and away from windows.

The backpacks were detonated by the Boston Bomb Squad just before 9 p.m., but so far there is no evidence the backpacks contained explosives.

A man was taken into custody after running down the street barefoot with a large backpack yelling “Boston Strong” according to reports. It's also being reported the man was wearing a black veil. Two other backpacks were found at the finish line after the man was removed. There are reports the man is being held by police at the Boston Public Library.
