According to the police, a Rhode Island man pulled a syringe on someone after puling the fire alarm. Boston police responded to a report of a person chasing people with a syringe at 700 Boylston Street at about 2:51 p.m. on Tuesday, May 2013. On arrival, police located the suspect at the Boylston Street exit at the Boston Public Library. The victim told police the he saw the suspect pull the fire alarm in the Library. The suspect repeatedly pulled the fire alarm and the victim told him to stop. At this point, the suspect turned to the victim and pulled a syringe and said “they’re gonna kill you,” and started chasing the victim. During a confrontation with the FBI and the Mass. State Police, a Florida man was shot and killed and an officer was injured.
One man is dead and an agent is injured after a confrontation between the FBI and Mass. State Police in connection with the Boston Marathon bombing in the Orlando area on Wednesday morning. The FBI on Wednesday morning said an agent, two Massachusetts State Police troopers and other law enforcement personnel were interviewing an individual in connection with the Boston Marathon bombing when he attacked the agent. The FBI identified the person shot and killed as Ibragim Todashev, 27. During the confrontation, Todaschev was shot and killed and the agent sustained non-life threatening injuries. "As this incident is under review, we have no further details at this time," the FBI said.
Police are searching for the boy, a woman and 36-year-old Jonathan Moore, believed to be driving at red 1997 Toyota Camry, license plate 634 RH4.
A 13-year-old Boston teenager believed abducted by his father was found by Cambridge police Tuesday night. Massachusetts State Police issued an Amber Alert for 13-year-old Jonathan Moore, whom they believe was abducted by his father Tuesday night. According to the alert, police were searching for 36-year-old Jonathan Moore senior, the child and a woman. Police are looking for a red 1997 Toyota Camry, license plate 634 RH4. The suspected abductor, Moore senior, is black, 36 years old, six feet, three inches tall, with black hair and brown eyes. There was no description of Moore senior's clothing. Massachusetts State Police will be on the lookout for people driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Massachusetts State Police will be operating a sobriety checkpoint this week at an undisclosed location in Suffolk County. The checkpoint will operate sometime between Thursday, May 23 and Friday, May 24. “The purpose is to further educate the motoring public and strengthen the public’s awareness to the need of detecting and removing those motorists who operate under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs from our roadways,” Colonel Timothy P. Alben, superintendent of the Massachusetts State Police, said in a press release. Alben noted that, “The selection of vehicles will not be arbitrary, safety will be assured, and any inconveniences to motorists will be minimized with advance notice to reduce fear and anxiety.” For more information, …

A Watertown man was charged with breaking side view mirrors on Beacon and Berkley Street. Boston Police Officers responded to a report of vandalism at about 2:22 a.m. on Saturday, 18 in the area of Beacon Street and Exeter Street. While en route, dispatch contacted the officers and told them that the suspect was seen breaking the side view mirrors off of cars as he walked outbound on Beacon Street. The witness was following the suspect down Beacon Street. Officers found a man who matched the provided description. As the police spoke to the suspect, the witness approached the officer and confirmed that this was the person they had seen kicking mirrors, sitting on the mirrors and ripping them off cars with his hands. An MIT scientist was killed on Sunday when her bicycle collided with a truck, police say.
Police believe they have found the truck driver who is suspected to have hit and killed an MIT scientist Kanako Miura while on her bike, but say the driver was not aware that he had hit anybody, the Boston Herald reported on Monday. Boston Police tweeted on Monday afternoon that "the driver of the truck is talking to detectives and cooperating with the investigation." Police said no charges have been pressed, and the driver's identity has not been released. Miura, 36, a native of Japan had been working at MIT for the last several months as a visiting scientist. She was killed in a bike accident on Sunday afternoon at the intersection of Beacon Street and Charlesgate West near Kenmore Square and Back Bay.

One drink could be the standard for drunken driving – at least for some people if the National Transporation Safety Board has its way. On Tuesday, the NTSB recommended states lower the blood-alcohol threshold for driving under the influence from 0.08 percent to 0.05 percent. What do you think? Is the proposal reasonable? About 10,000 deaths a year are related to drunken driving. The NTSB says the lower limit would save 500 to 800 lives a year. Officials at the American Beverage Institute called the proposal "ludicrous." It said the average woman could reach the 0.05 percent limit by having one drink. Authorities have amassed evidence indicating accused Boston Marathon bombers Tamerlan and Dzhokar Tsarnaev possibly killed three men in a Waltham home in 2011, according to ABC News. Investigators have "mounting evidence" including forensics pointing toward the Tsarnaev brothers," says ABC. Tamerlan was killed in an April 19 shootout with police in Watertown and Dzhorkar was later captured hiding in a boat in Watertown. A Medford woman was charged with larceny and heroin possession after she reportedly tried to leave Nordstrom’s without paying for the 18 items she had in her purse. Boston Police Officers responded to a report of shoplifting at Nordstrom’s at 497 Boylston Street at about 2:05 p.m. on May 5. A witness told police that they saw the suspect place multiple items into her purse and head towards the door without stopping at any points of purchase. At this point, the Loss Prevention employee stopped the suspect and called the police. The suspect reportedly had over $300 in stolen goods on her.
