The Guild was established in the early 1900s by a group of artists who were considered leaders in the "Boston School"…More of painting; several of the founders were originally associated with Boston's Museum of Fine Arts.
Today, the Guild is made up of members who are required to submit their artwork for the review and approval of its Board of Governors.
The Guild hosts multiple exhibitions throughout the year, primarily featuring the work of its artist members. There are two galleries on-site; the second, Presidential Gallery, tends to show traditional painting under natural light. Works on view also are available for sale.
In addition to hosting exhibitions, the Guild offers several three-day workshops in the fall and spring for members and non-members.
