Police: Man Charged with Tearing Side View Mirrors on Berkley Street

A Watertown man was charged with breaking side view mirrors on Beacon and Berkley Street. Boston Police Officers responded to a report of vandalism at about 2:22 a.m. on Saturday, 18 in the area of Beacon Street and Exeter Street. While en route, dispatch contacted the officers and told them that the suspect was seen breaking the side view mirrors off of cars as he walked outbound on Beacon Street. The witness was following the suspect down Beacon Street. Officers found a man who matched the provided description. As the police spoke to the suspect, the witness approached the officer and confirmed that this was the person they had seen kicking mirrors, sitting on the mirrors and ripping them off cars with his hands. Police: Man Brawled with Officers at Prudential Center

According to reports, a Cambridge man tried to fight his way out of the Prudential Center rather than show police his identification. A security officer of the Prudential Center was on patrol in the Huntington Arcade located inside the Prudential Center at 800 Boylston Street when he saw a person who was involved in a property damage instance on April 30, 2013. At this point, the officer called the police. When the officer arrived, he made contact with the subject near the Huntington Avenue exit vestibule. The officer asked the suspect for his identification. At this point, the suspect refused to show any identification and became aggressive. Medford Woman Charged with Shoplifting, Heroin Possession

A Medford woman was charged with larceny and heroin possession after she reportedly tried to leave Nordstrom’s without paying for the 18 items she had in her purse. Boston Police Officers responded to a report of shoplifting at Nordstrom’s at 497 Boylston Street at about 2:05 p.m. on May 5. A witness told police that they saw the suspect place multiple items into her purse and head towards the door without stopping at any points of purchase. At this point, the Loss Prevention employee stopped the suspect and called the police. The suspect reportedly had over $300 in stolen goods on her. When the police asked if she had anything else on her, she told officers that she had some heroin in a paper packet in her right sock. Officers arrested …

Police: Man Threw Brick Through Sunglass Hut Storefront

Boston Police Officers observed two males wrestling in the middle of Newbury Street between Dartmouth Street and Exeter Street at about 5:18 a.m. on Friday, April 26. The officer exited his marked car and spoke to the witness, who said that while working at Joe’s American Bar and Grill, he observed three white males smash the front door of Sunglass Hut at 182 Newbury Street. The witness told officers that two of the men climbed through the broken glass door and emerge from the store carrying several pairs of sunglasses and put them in a car parked in front of the store. The witness said that he observed the three men flee on foot on Newbury Street and turn onto Exeter Street. The suspects abandoned the vehicle. A witness was able to detain…

Police: Man Tried to Stab Lord and Taylor Security Guard Over Spanx

A Lynn man was charged with trying to stab a Lord and Taylor security guard over a box of Spanx.  Boston police responded to a report of a shoplifter armed with a knife at 760 Boylston St. at 9:11 p.m. on April 8. Prior to their arrival, officers were informed that security had the suspect in custody and that he tried to stab the security guard and that they were on Ring Road. Upon arrival, officers observed the suspect wearing a leopard print black and grey T-shirt and blue jeans handcuffed. Officers had to separate the suspect from a crowd, who were exchanging words with each other. The witness told police that they saw the suspect take a box of Spanx into a dressing room and return with an empty box. Security attempted to stop the …

Malden Man Charged with Trying to Break into Back Bay Cars

A Malden man was charged with trying to break in to people’s cars in the Back Bay at 10:50 p.m. on Thursday, April 4.   Officers responded to a report of two men breaking into a motor vehicle near Clarendon and Marlborough Street. The caller described the males as white, one in his late 20’s, about 5’11’’ in a black shirt, blue jeans and gloves. The other suspect was described only as having a black bag. The witness told police that they fled down the alleyway towards Arlington Street.   Officers located a man who matched the descriptions of the man in blue jeans and a black shirt on Arlington Street. Woman Charged with Shoplifting $677 Worth of Makeup at Boylston Street Store

The following information was supplied by the Boston Police Department. Charges listed do not indicate convictions.

Officers responded to a report of a shoplifter in Sephora at 800 Boylston Street at 6:10 p.m. on Wednesday. Officers spoke with the launch prevention officer, who stated that they observed the suspect take various makeup items and place them in a shopping bag. The suspect then tried to leave the store without attempting to pay. The loss prevention officer stopped the suspect and brought her into the security office. The loss prevention officer recovered the stolen goods, which totaled $677. Officers arrested Xue Han of 550 Memorial Driver, Cambridge and charged her with larceny, shoplifting over $250.

Two Men Charged with Stealing Exeter Street Hotel Employee's iPhone

The following information was supplied by the Boston Police Department. Charges listed do not indicate convictions.

Officers responded to a report of a larceny in progress inside the Courtyard by Marriott at 88 Exeter Street at 4:30 p.m. on March 26. Officers spoke to the victim, who stated that two men stole her cell phone. The victim was a hotel employee, who stated that at about 4 p.m., two men came in to the hotel to reserve a room for four nights. The men did not provide any identification and used a pre-paid Visa card. The victim stated that she was unable to process the card and started to suspect that it was either invalid or fraudulent. The suspect became angry when the victim told him this. At this point, the suspects walked over to the victim’s desk in the front of the lobby. The men then quickly exited the hotel. Police: Intoxicated Employee Pulled Knife on Met Bar Staff When Asked to Leave

An intoxicated employee brandished a knife at The Met Bar when they were asked to leave the premises. Boston Police Officers responded to a report of an employee of The Met Bar and Grill assaulting another employee at 279 Dartmouth Street 9:00 p.m. on March 24. When police arrived on the scene, the manager of bar told police that an employee had shown up for work intoxicated and was ordered to leave. The intoxicated employee refused to leave and became belligerent towards the kitchen staff. According to witnesses, the intoxicated employee then picked up a knife, brandished it in a threatening manner and stated in a reportedly garbled language that he was not afraid of any of them. Two Men Charged with Passing Counterfeit Bills in Back Bay Bar

The following information was supplied by the Boston Police Department and the Suffolk County District Attorney's Officer. Charges listed do not indicate convictions.

Two Rhode Island men were arraigned in Boston Municipal Court on March 19 for passing counterfeit bills at the Charlesmark Hotel at 710 Boylston Street. At 9:21 p.m. on March 18, Felix Perez, 23, of 245 Manton Ave., Providence and Dana Leyland, 29, of 5 Dix Ave., Pawtucket were drinking at the bar. They ordered two Coronas and a Hennessey, paid with a $100 and received change. The men left after they finished their drinks. Upon further investigation the bartender observed the money left for the tabs had a “ghost image” of President Lincoln. The bar tender suspected that the bills were counterfeit and followed two of the male suspects into Sola at the Lenox Hotel at 710 Boylston Street and called the police.
