Boston Man Charged with Shoplifting, Heroin Possession

The following information was supplied by the Boston Police Department. Charges listed do not indicate a conviction.

Boston Police Officers were called to the Lord and Taylor at 760 Boylston Street at 12:30 p.m. on February 22 for a shoplifter who had been detained by the store security. Upon arrival, officers spoke with two store employees, who reportedly witnessed the suspect taking bottles of cologne and perfume and placing them in his pockets. Officers reportedly recognized the suspect from past incidents. Officers arrested Gregory Gales of 10 Cawfield Street, Boston, and charged him with larceny of $250 or more. The suspect reportedly had four bottles of Lord and Taylor Fragrances and two bottles of BVLARGI fragrances. Man Charged with Pulling a Gun in Trash Dispute

At 8:29 a.m. on January 7, officers responded to a person with a gun on Marlborough Street. Officers spoke with the victim in front of 85 Marlborough Street who stated that he and his coworker had been picking up trash in the rear of that residency when a white male came out back and placed trash in the back. When the victim told the suspect to place his trash in the proper place, the suspect went back into his apartment and came back outside holding a black handgun. The suspect then pointed the handgun at the suspect and said, “Next time you tell me where to put my trash, I’ll kill you.” Then the suspect went back inside. Woman Arrested Outside Apple Store with $2,000 in Stolen Merchandise

Boston Police said they caught Fenway resident Kathryn Jemmett with more than $2,000 of fraudulently purchased merchandise in front of the Back Bay retail store.

Boston Police allegedly caught a Boston woman with more than $2,000 in fraudulently purchased goods, including an iPhone 5, while she was still shopping on Boylston Street in the Back Bay, according to Suffolk County District Attorney Daniel Conley's office. Kathryn Jemmett, 45, of the Fenway neighborhood was arraigned on Thursday in Boston Municipal Court on charges of receiving stolen property and credit card fraud over $250. Judge Tracy-Lee Lyons imposed $500 cash bail. Boston Police responded to the Back Bay Apple Store on Boylston Street on Wednesday at about 8:15 p.m. to speak with a man whose wallet had been stolen from his locker at a Prudential Center gym. Police Confiscated 500 Illegal Guns from Boston Streets in 2012

The Boston Police Department has removed more than 500 different types of illegal guns— including high-power, high-capacity guns like those used in the Newtown, CT shooting— from the streets of Boston.

The Boston Police Department announced on Wednesday that to date in 2012, police have confiscated more than 500 illegal guns from the streets of Boston. Boston Police have also seized several of the deadly, high powered weapons and high capacity magazines used in the tragic mass shootings in Tucson, AZ, Aurora, CO and, most recently, in Newtown, CT. Those include four Bushmaster rifles, eight Glock handguns, three Sig Sauer handguns and seven AK variant-type rifles. Police seized a small stockpile of weapons just days ago. On Saturday, Dec. 15, a search of an East Boston residence resulted in seizure of one shotgun, two rifles and three semi-automatic pistols. Woman Arrested for Assault After Allegedly Attacking Waitstaff at Dartmouth Street Bar

A Rhode Island woman was charged with several counts of assault and battery on December 10. Officers responded to a report of an assault and battery in progress at the Met Bar Back Bay at 279 Dartmouth Street at 6:11 p.m. on December 10. A bartender served two women who appeared to be intoxicated, so the server took them back. The two women became irate, verbally and physically abusive to the staff, according to the police report. One of the women struck the waitstaff several times and yelled profanities. Both women left the bar, but returned later, claiming they had left a bag behind. At this point, the two women became even more abusive. A manager and a server claimed that they were struck several times. The server claimed to have been …

Breaking and Entering Reported on Stanhope Street

The following information was supplied by the Boston Police Department.

Police are searching for a suspect who stole $390 from the Zocalo Restaurant at 35 Stanhope Street on December 7 at 10:31 a.m. Police responded to a report of a breaking and entering at 35 Stanhope Street. Officers spoke with the General Manager, who stated that someone had entered the basement between the hours of 11:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. on December 6. The General Manager said that $390 was missing from the safe. The General Manager stated that the lock had been tampered with and was difficult to operate. This investigation is ongoing.

Boston Man Charged with Stealing Scooter on Newbury Street

The following information was supplied by the Boston Police Department. The charges listed do not imply a conviction.

Boston Police Officers observed two men leaning down in front of two locked scooters on Newbury Street at 2:24 a.m. on December 3. When officers circled back, they observed that the scooters were gone and one front wheel was still attached to the lock, which was secured to a sign. A broken Master lock lay on the sidewalk with a bolt next to it. Officers began to canvas the area when they spotted the same tow males, one riding a scooter, on walking next to the driver on Newbury Street near Hereford Street. The suspect on foot took off when he noticed the officer. He was apprehended on Newbury Street. The second suspect was seen heading down Newbury Street at the intersection of Hereford Street going the wrong way on the stolen scooter …

UPDATED: Two People Stabbed at Beacon and Charles

Victims were taken to area hospitals for treatment. No clear description of suspects.

UPDATE, Sunday, 10:06 a.m.— Police say two people were stabbed in a 1:30 a.m. incident at 74 Beacon St. The wounds did not appear to be life-threatening, said Boston Police Officer Jamie Kenneally. ~~~~~ Scanner reports from early Sunday morning indicate two people were shot and one person stabbed at Beacon and Charles streets. Twitter user @NEFirebuff reports the two shooting victims were taken to Massachusetts General Hospital and Tufts Medical Center, respectively. Please note that scanner information can be incomplete or wrong. Patch will update this story as soon as we can with confirmed information from Boston Police.

Boston Police Seek Public’s Help in Finding Child’s Lost Toy

Aiden had been diagnosed with an extremely rare form of brain cancer and it was his wish to attend a baseball game at Fenway Park. To fulfill the wish, Aiden and his family were slated to attend a game between the Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees on Sept. 12. Boston Man Charged With Larceny From a Vehicle on Commonwealth Avenue

A man was arrested for breaking into a car on Commonwealth Avenue.

Boston Police responded to a radio call for a report of a male attempting to break into cars on Commonwealth Avenue near Hereford Street at 10:47 p.m. on September 25.  Officers stopped a man who fit the description headed down Public Alley 414 carrying multiple bags and a backpack. When the officers stopped the suspect, they found a tent and a Vera Bradley bag containing women’s clothing along with a large amount of broken glass. When officers searched the near by area, they discovered a vehicle with a broken left rear window. Witnesses brought to the scene positively identified the suspect as the person they saw breaking into cars on Commonwealth Avenue.
