New Shops Coming to Copley Place

Four new stores will open later in the spring.

Boston.com is reporting that four new shops will be opening at Copley Place later this spring. According to the news website, the four shops are Sur La Table, True Religion Brand Jeans, john varvatos and HUGO. Sur La Table is a kitchen hardware store that will be located on the first level while True Religion Brand Jeans will be on the upper level, according to Boston.com. HUGO, a men's and women's clothing and accessories store, and men’s clothing store john varvatos will open on the lower level, Boston.com reports.

One Arrested on Shoplifting Charges from Copley Place

Boston Police arrested an Everett man on Sunday for allegedly trying to steal a high-end purse from Copley Place Mall.

Boston Police arrested an Everett man for allegedly trying to steal a purse from a store at the Copley Place Mall on Sunday.  Police said a security guard watching video footage observed Steven Collymore, of 141 Broadway Ave. in Everett enter the store around 3:45 p.m., take the handbag, and attempt to leave without paying. However, he was stopped by security personnel, then arrested by Boston Police. The store's security guard told the responding officers he believed this isn't the first time Collymore had stolen other items from the store, police said. Collymore had allegedly been seen in the store on August 31 where he is believed to have stolen a Pony Tab clutch worth $1850, and on September 4, when he allegedly lifted a Watersnake …

City Breaks Ground on Pru Plaza Apartments

The 28-story luxury apartment development is scheduled to be complete by 2013.

The city broke ground on the construction of the $129-million, 28-story apartment building on the Prudential Plaza during a ceremony Friday.  Mayor Thomas M.
