It's one of the business stations in the system and it's closing for two years staring in 2013. Will the change affect your commute?
Make no mistake, the plan to close Government Center Station for two years will affect your commute. The station, one of the busiest in the system, connects the Green and Blue lines, making it a primary route to Logan Airport. It's also the closest T stop to city hall and the Kennedy federal building. The closure comes as the T begins a $90 million renovation of the station, bringing more natural light and better equipment to the aging, dark station. The MBTA has offered some alternatives for riders to try, but we want to hear from you: Will this major closure affect your commute? Plan on biking or driving instead?
