Boston Police officers responded to a report of shoplifting at 786 Boylston Street on October 27 at 5:37 p.m.. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the caller who stated that they had witnessed the suspect pocket two pairs of sunglasses and conceal them in his coat. The suspect then exited the store after passing all points of purchase. When a security guard approached the suspect and identified himself, the suspect attempted to flee. The security guard stated that a struggle followed, but they were able to detain the suspect and handcuff them for safety sake. Joseph Trial of 12 Cedar Street, Malden was arrested and charged with larceny over $250. The stolen/damaged sunglasses, valued at $940 total, were returned to the store.

Two men were arrested this week for allegedly stealing several hundred dollars worth of watches from Lord and Taylor. Boston Police responded to a report of a larceny from the Lord and Taylor Store at 760 Boylston Street. Two males were reportedly seen running out of the store down Public Alley 432. When officers pursued them, they ran on to Newbury Street, then Calderon Street until they were stopped at Commonwealth Avenue. The two men were observed throwing items over a fence into a nearby playground. Officers made contact with the Lead Loss Prevention Officer at Lord and Taylor, who stated that they observed the two suspects take four men’s watches from the display case and flee. A man was arrested for breaking into a car on Commonwealth Avenue.
Boston Police responded to a radio call for a report of a male attempting to break into cars on Commonwealth Avenue near Hereford Street at 10:47 p.m. on September 25. Officers stopped a man who fit the description headed down Public Alley 414 carrying multiple bags and a backpack. When the officers stopped the suspect, they found a tent and a Vera Bradley bag containing women’s clothing along with a large amount of broken glass. When officers searched the near by area, they discovered a vehicle with a broken left rear window. Witnesses brought to the scene positively identified the suspect as the person they saw breaking into cars on Commonwealth Avenue. Three men face a long list of charges after a botched purse snatching lead to a fight with police on Beacon Street.
Boston Police responded to a larceny in progress report on Berkeley Street at 12:45 p.m. on September 23. It was reported that three males tried to flee from a restaurant after they had allegedly taken a woman’s purse from a near by table. The victim stated that she had gone to the bathroom and had left her purse on the table. She was notified by the manager that that the suspects were headed to towards the stairs. The manager confronted the suspects and was able to recover the purse. Police began to search the area for the suspects. A Boston man and a Middleboro man were arrested on larceny charges for allegedly stealing multiple pairs of Ray Bans from a Boylston Street store this week. A Boston Police officer working a construction detail was flagged down by a security officer on Boylston Street who stated that two unknown males had stolen merchandise from a near by store. The security officer informed the police officer that store security officers had detained the suspects at the corner of Boylston Street and Clarendon Street. Upon arrival, the security officer stated to the Boston Police Officer that he had observed, via store security cameras, both men selecting multiple pairs of Ray Ban sunglasses.
