Homeless Man Charged with Stealing Woman's Purse

Boston Police officers responded to a report of a larceny in progress near Exeter Street and Newbury Street on November 15 at 9:47 p.m.. When officers arrived, they were informed that witnesses were chasing the suspect. One witness stated that she had observed the suspect running down Newbury Street with people yelling at him and chasing him as he headed down an alley way. The suspect disappeared behind some cars and disappeared. Officers spoke with the victim stated that she was inside a restaurant when she heard her friends shout from the other side of the table. One yelled, “stop him,” as he removed her purse from the back of her chair and took off. The suspect was pursued into a nearby alleyway, but no one saw him leave. As police …
