Partly sunny. A slight chance of showers. Highs in the upper 60s. East winds around 5 mph...increasing to southeast 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.
Recently I have been brainstorming on what proposals could work for improving School Choice in Boston. I created three rough proposals as well as some suggestions for improving academics, the walk zone and kindergarten placement. Here is a link to my ideas so far:

My main reason for creating these proposals was to have the Boston Public Schools have more proposals to fine tune and for parents to consider. I feel like the current 5 plans basically work off of the same map. All the BPS maps would give our family similar options for quality schools. I live in the Fenway so my main options would be the Quincy School and the Hurley School (walk zone school). If there wasn't enough room in those schools my daughter would be bused to Allston Brighton.
I am hoping that my ideas can be viewed by parents to empower them to come up with their own solutions too. I don't want the process to be so rushed that there isn't time to put some more ideas on the table.
